I've decided to take the plunge and host a monthly Day in the Life link-up, so if you're here to participate, welcome! I'm super excited and a bit nervous to try this out and I really hope it goes well. If you're here, then you probably already know how this whole Day in the Life thing works, but if not, here's the basic run down: take a picture every hour for one whole day, either 12 or 24 hours (except when you're sleeping, of course), write your post, and link-up to your post.
I'm also participating in the Blog Every Day in May challenge. Today's topic was supposed to be Spring is Here, but coincidentally, tomorrow's topic is Day in the Life, so I'm swapping them. If you're here from the challenge, feel free to link up your Day in the Life posts (even if they aren't photo an hour posts). I'll leave the link-up open for a week.
This is my fourth month to do a photo an hour, and I have to say it's quite addicting. I take all the pictures with my iPhone on Instagram, and, yes, my profile is still private, so you have to request to follow me. My days aren't spectacular, but I like having a record of what day to day life is like. I have plenty of pictures of vacations and special occasions, but there never seem to be any of what my life is actually like.
Yesterday was a work day for me. All my previous Day in the Life posts happened on off days, so it's nice to document what a working day is like. And yesterday was one of the longest days I've had since Jack was born; it was a tiring day. It was also the most difficult to document since I was at work all day long, and it's not easy to squeeze interesting pictures in between working on clients. Working moms, I don't know how you do it; leaving Jack is the hardest thing I do, and it usually involves tears at some point in the day. Usually from me.
Jack slept the entire night, but was up early
managing my Facebook page
in the shower
arriving at Grandma's so she can babysit Jack
ready for my first client of the day
oleander outside of work; I had just finished with my client
second client of the day
Jack is 100% breastfed, so I have to pump when we're apart
I'm really missing him at this point in my day
leaving work to see Jack
I miss him so much when I'm working
heading back to work
I hate leaving him, but he's in good hands with Grandma
the break room between clients
my workday is finally over
picking up Jack from Grandma's
I don't know what's up with the face I'm making
we are now officially out past Jack's bedtime
finally home - we've been away for over 12 hours
sweet note from the hubby
working on blog stuff
I am now officially up way past my bedtime
tomorrow is going to hurt
Finally, I went to bed, and Jack slept through the night. I didn't get a pic of his 6 am feeding, I was just too tired to grab my phone. I got up at 7 and he was still asleep. Thankfully. I'm off today (and for the next week), and am going to rest and visit my mom in Louisiana so she can spend some time with Jack. I see a nap in my future.
I love waking up to this mug
