Y'all, I am still a week behind ON EVERYTHING!!! But I've been feeling a tad bit more in control of my life, so that should lead to having more available time to blog (OMG, so many things to write about!!!). Anyway, this edition of Weekend Snapshots is brought to you by Blacklight Glow Jessica.
Saturday: Jack and I hung out around the house for most of Saturday, ran some errands, and then got ready for the Blacklight Run we were all doing that night. Den got off work at 7pm and we all met up to drive to the race site. The Blacklight Run itself was kinda disappointing - I didn't have a bad time, but the whole experience didn't live up to my expectations. I'm thinking of doing a post just about my thoughts about the night. We at least got plenty glowy and just about everything I was wearing was UV reactive, so that was fun. Jack ran like a wild man for about a mile or so - that kid is destined to be a runner.
Sunday: Jack and I slept in on Sunday to recover from the run. It wasn't over until 11:30 Saturday night and long story short, we didn't get home until around 2:30am because we had to go back for Den's phone. My MIL went to Austin to visit her brother, so Jack and I went to pick her up - my niece, Stephanie, had the great idea to meet at a Starbucks half-way to make the exchange. I never mind a good road trip, but only having to drive half-was was so much easier. Plus we now realize how easy it is to get to the half-way point and will have to plan to meet up there so the kids can all play! Jack LOVES Starbucks and always gets a fizzy drink and pound cake. He fell asleep on the way there and as soon as he woke up and realized we were in the parking lot, he was all like, I want my fizzy drink! We indulged in a Happy Meal on the way home because we're trying to collect all the stuffed toys from The Secret Life of Pets. So far we have Norman, Mel, Buddy, and Gidget - if anyone happens to have a Max or Duke they're willing on parting with, Jack would love you for-ev-er. Later that night, Jack built Jackville, Jacklandia.
