Weekend Snapshots 39

Welcome to Weekend Snapshots 39 Link-Up with yours truly and Ariana at 3twentysix.  This edition of Weekend Snapshots is brought to you by Dennis and Jack being all sweet and lovey after an afternoon at the park on Sunday.  This weekend was pretty busy even though most of our plans on Sunday got rained out - but that's okay because I really did overbook us - I WANT TO DO IT ALL.  #fomo

Saturday:  Dennis and Jack headed up to the renaissance festival grounds to start the cleanup process before opening weekend in a few weeks.  I enjoyed having the morning and afternoon to myself - I used the time to clean out my storage area for my business which was long overdue (I really should've gotten before and after pics) and then I saw a client.  I also picked up my participant shirt and bib for the 5K race on Sunday.  My MIL came over to spend the night and watch Jack so Dennis could attend closing night of my performance and our cast party.

Sunday:  I had to wake up so early on Sunday - so painfully early - to participate in the 4th of five races as part of the Run Houston Race Series.  Thankfully, the race was near my house so I didn't have to drive halfway across town, but I only managed about 4 hours of fitful sleep before I had to be up and ready to run.  I was hoping to run sub-40:00, but it was too warm, humid, and I was so tired that I didn't really push myself hard enough (if I'd pushed myself I could've easily gone sub-40:00).  We spent most of the rest of the day doing general housecleaning stuffs and my MIL helped organize some stuff and pruned our houseplants - because I have no idea what I'm doing with plants.  Jack had fun helping and made up some fun stories about how the stems of the plants were water pipes and he was a plumber.  We were supposed to go to a picnic that afternoon, and then I was going to go to this free photo shoot, but they both got rained out.  Instead, we went to the park, then got ice cream and spent too much money at the dollar store.  We were so exhausted by the end of the day.

It was a bittersweet weekend finishing up the play and saying goodbye to my castmates, but that's the life of an actress.  Sunday was exhausting, but lots of fun and just the kind of family adventure we needed.  What were you up to this weekend?  Let me know in the comments or link-up your snapshots post so we can all share the love!  Have a great week!!
